Kampala City Roads Rehabilitation Project (KCRRP)

This 48 months project is worth US$ 288 Million and this loan was effective July 2021. The project is funded by the African Development Bank and African Development Fund, and is implemented by Kampala Capital City Authority-KCCA.

Atiak-Nimule is a vital transportation corridor linking northern Uganda to South Sudan. Stretching from Atiak in Uganda’s Amuru District to Nimule at the South Sudan border, this route serves as a critical trade artery for goods, services, and cross-border commerce between the two nations. The highway is not only a lifeline for economic activities but also a symbol of regional integration, fostering connectivity and supporting livelihoods in the surrounding communities. Its strategic significance makes it a key focus for infrastructure development and maintenance efforts in Uganda.

The Mukono-Kyetume-Katosi/Nyenga road construction project is a transformative infrastructure initiative aimed at improving connectivity and fostering economic growth in Uganda. Spanning approximately 74 kilometers, the road links Mukono to Nyenga through Kyetume and Katosi, significantly reducing travel time and enhancing access to key economic hubs, including Lake Victoria’s fishing communities. This project underscores the government’s commitment to boosting trade, tourism, and regional integration while improving the livelihoods of residents along the route. The construction features durable asphalt standards and incorporates drainage systems to ensure long-term usability and resilience.

The Soroti-Katakwi-Moroto Road construction is a transformative infrastructure project aimed at enhancing connectivity and fostering economic growth in northeastern Uganda. Spanning a critical trade and transport corridor, this road links Soroti, Katakwi, and Moroto districts, improving access to markets, healthcare, and education for the region's communities. Designed with durable pavement and drainage systems, the project supports national development goals by facilitating the movement of goods and services while promoting regional integration and tourism in Karamoja. The road construction underscores the government's commitment to uplifting historically underserved areas through strategic infrastructure investments.
